The future that we all envisioned as kids is growing ever closer. It is within sight; it is within reach. Estonia-based startup company Velmenni has recently unveiled a super-fast alternative to Wi-Fi that can be implemented within a commercial context. Known as Li-Fi, this technology will be able to send data 100x faster than current Wi-Fi today. SOURCE
Circuit Board Tattoos
As opposed to permanent tattoos, Chaotic Moon Studios have developed what they call Tech Tats – temporary circuit board tattoos that sit on the surface of your skin and will help doctors monitor their patient’s health using a smartphone. SOURCE
After years of studying the tardigrade – a microscopic water creature that is just over 1 mm tall and can survive in the harshest of conditions – scientists have now sequenced its entire genome and discovered 1/6 of its DNA is foreign. SOURCE
Biologists at Tufts University have done what was claimed to be the impossible – inducing one species of flatform to grow heads and brains that are characteristic of other flatworm species, all without altering their genomic sequence. SOURCE
