For one concept artist, named Christian Susana, these robots will serve multiple purposes akin to a Swiss army knife. Say hello to Leonardo – your multipurpose robot companion of the future!

Leonardo is a multipurpose robot that would be designed specifically for similar terrain as that of the Martian surface. It would serve various operations, including but not limited to mine detection, rescue missions, and the handling of dangerous chemicals. Notably, its arms would be designed with a special mechanism, of which would allow it to attach an array of different tools needed for specific jobs.
FUTURE IMPLICATIONS
Leonardo is only one of many robot concept designs which artists and professional space engineers alike are hoping to create for future planetary colonization missions. Robots have always been our initial go-to means of exploring other planets. Humans usually come in soon thereafter. Eventually these planets, whether they be Mars or somewhere else, will be shared between humans and robots together. They’ll be extensions for how we’re currently transforming Earth as each year passes. So if you want to know how we and robots will get along on other planets, you need only look at how we’re currently getting along here on our (currently) one and only home thus far.
