Below we’ve provided two videos of the event, in which Microsoft reveals some of the more exciting features HoloLens will acquire for your personal entertainment.
“Microsoft HoloLens is the first fully untethered, see-through holographic computer. It enables high-definition holograms to come to life in your world, seamlessly integrating with your physical places, spaces, and things. We call this experience mixed reality. Holograms mixed with your real world will unlock all-new ways to create, communicate, work, and play.” – Microsoft
The HoloLens isn’t just a new technological fad that people will enjoy and then drop at a moment’s notice. What Microsoft has introduced is a snippet into the future of computing as we know it. The ability to put on a pair of glasses and then transport the digital world into the physical realm is a sci-fi dream come true. But this is merely the beginning.
Sometime soon you won’t even need a pair of glasses for holographic computing. Eventually we’ll achieve interactive holography that is so complex that we’ll find it difficult at differentiating it from real, physical objects. In terms of computing, wearable computing is entering the augmented reality stage. Though, soon, wearable computing will wither away and be replaced for bio-computing. From there, we just can’t possibly fathom the next stage. Whatever it might be, it’ll be beyond our wildest dreams!
